In other places, they may welcome in the New Year with the ringing of bells, but up here most people welcome it with a good long walk. The air was perfect for it this morning. Crisp weather cold enough to put your hands into your pockets and send a pleasant tingle over your cheeks but with enough sunshine to keep you warm once you got going. Golden light on winter hills makes you not mind so much about the long nights. Happy 2019 everyone!
