Pateley Bridge in Winter - A Teen's Eye View

Updated: Mar 1, 2021

We’ve had lots of brilliant weather this year in 2021! We have had a couple of snow days, complete with blue skies and sunny weather to top it off. There is not really much more you could ask for, winter weather wise. We are truly blessed to live in this secluded, beautiful valley. Walks have been a pleasure to go on especially during this lockdown. It really distracts you for a while; it’s like free therapy in a sense. The air always smells good and the views never get old even after living here for 6 years. We are so lucky here in Nidderdale to have these privileges it’s like being on a permanent holiday here! Everything is so brightly coloured in winter. I think it must be the lighting but everything just seems to glow it’s truly breath taking.

My top 3 walks I’d recommend around here would be the quarry lead mines walk, Silver Hill and Wath trail, and Bewerley lap including the famous fishpond woods (and if your feeling brave maybe a detour to Two Stoops). Although there is a lot going on in the world right now, one thing has always remained the same here: we still have fabulous wildlife and incredible views.

I'm truly grateful to live here and I hope you will come and visit as soon as this is all over. It would be a real shame to miss out!
