Half of Pateley have been watching this brood of ducks since the little ones hatched in March. Great conversations for dog walkers and ramblers, they were one of the star turns at the local primary school's Springtime Adventure walk.
Usually parents lose one or two to large birds of prey like Red Kites and Peregrin Falcons. These ones have made it. One more reason to make you smile now spring is in full swing.
